Check in this order
- Check that the recorder is not already recording/stopping.
- Check at least 128 MiB free storage.
- Read the current status/error instead of treating a button tap as successful capture.
Safe corrective action
Resolve the state/space issue and choose Start recording deliberately.
Verify recovery
The recorder reports Recording. No upload or Session-rate change should occur.
